I was asked to write this song for the 150th anniversary of the Alwinton border shepherd's show.

'Twas some years ago, up by Kidlandlee,
A tale of two shepherds what couldn't agree,
So in comes this fella to sort it aal oot,
And that's what the Alwinton show's aal aboot.

Let's gan to the Alwinton show,
And see aal the things there is to see,

There'll be plenty there for a fella like me.

I says "Hinney, me jersey's torned far ower smaal,
The Alwinton show has a good menswear staal."
She says "whey that's queer for tha's nowt happened mine,
Life ower at Angus and Jean's must be fine.

And see aal the things there is to see

But divent expect there'll be owt left for tea!"

By yon Geoffrey Diggle could certainly swear,
And Telfer's sheepdogs they won every year,
But Bill Dagg's the fella what torned it aal roond
When the Alwinton show nearly went undergroond.
